Materia Arquitectónica is an architecture firm based in Mexico City, Mexico. Materia was formed by Mexican Gustavo Carmona and Puerto Rican Lisa Beltran, who studied together at the University of Arizona and later married. After living and working in San Francisco, the couple moved to Mexico City in 2006 to create Materia.

The firm is fundamentally rooted in concepts such as mass, light and contrast for the realization of projects. The methodology of Materia's creative process considers the contextual elements of the site, the user, and the client's requirements as a reference for design. Materia seeks to create a unique and contemporary language for each project, believing that architectural expression is reflected in the experience of movement through space.

Materia Arquitectónica has completed projects in Mexico, Brazil, Portugal, Colombia, Chile and Barbados.
