Clad in rough-sawn timber, a series of folding metal screens open the interior to the deck.
The screens are perforated, keeping the home secure even as light and fresh air enter pass through. The interior's wall and floors are covered in oiled oak boards that "provide a warm counter to [the] robust exterior," say the architects.
Symmetrical bedrooms, one at each side of the house, flank the living room.
A water collection system and solar panels keep this home self-sufficient. "This is a retreat that provides shelter, warmth, and comfort to engage with the wilderness and isolation of the remote setting," the architects add.
