When husband and wife Jeremy Pyles and Mary Welch were frustrated with the lighting options for their Manhattan home-furnishings shop—Niche—they decided to create their own pendant light for the store. It soon became the store’s most sought after option, and in 2005, Pyles and Welch launched a line of ten lights made from hand-blown glass. Niche Modern has since created more lights, and expanded its assortment to include other colorful glass objects like vases and carafes.

Sculptural pendant light available in several colors

An inspired lighting source, the Trove Pendant is a sculptural glass hanging light. The pendant is a part of Niche Modern’s new Crystalline Collection of lights, which embraces fresh, bright colors alongside boldly defined angles. Available in a fleet of inviting colors, each Trove Glass Pendant is blown by hand in New York.

Sculptural vase made from handblown glass

After getting its start in concept lighting, Niche Modern has expanded its designs to include other household items, including vases, candle holders, and more. The Stamen Glass Vase was originally imagined from Niche Modern’s Stamen Pendant light, a spherical ceiling light. Recast as a dramatic tabletop vessel, the Stamen is inspired by the natural forms of the flower and can house a variety of delicate blossoms.

Sculptural votive holder with round and angular details

The Convex Votive is an elegant tabletop accessory that is available in both soft and bold colors. Featuring both a soft, round opening and an angular silhouette, the Convex is an inviting geometric home for a votive candle. With a small footprint, the Convex can be grouped with others to create a colorful candle display, or it can be used as an accent on its own, on a dining table, mantel, or even on a bathroom sink.

Nature-inspired hand-blown glass pendant light

Inspired by nature, the Calla Pendant Light is designed based on the calla lily flower. The pendant features a tubular incandescent bulb at its center, which resembles a stamen in a flower. The pendant can be used on its own or grouped with other Calla Pendant Lights to create a graphic lighting display in an interior.

Colorful carafe set designed for a nightstand

The Luxe Carafe Set includes one glass carafe and a coordinating drinking glass, meant to rest atop the carafe when not in use. The set is designed for use on a bedside table, but it can also elevate a master bathroom. Crafted from hand-blown glass, the Luxe Carafe Set is defined by its subtle curves.

Elegant glass vase with circular indent

An extension of Niche Modern’s Indent Series—vases that feature an indentation at the middle of the vase, the Bonita Vase features an extruded circular ring at its center, providing a nice complement to Niche Modern’s designs. The Bonita Vase is thoughtfully handcrafted and can be used on a mantel, dining room table, or on a side or bedside table.

The Delinea Pendant is a colorful glass hanging light that is defined by its sculptural silhouette. The pendant can be used on its own, or grouped with other pendants in the series to create a bold and graphic overhead lighting display. Use the Delinea for overhead lighting in a dining room, over a kitchen counter, or even in a bedroom or living space.

Blending both rounded forms and angular details, the Taper Vase is defined by its geometric sensibility and dramatic look. Whether full of flowers or left empty, the Taper Vase makes a striking decorative accent on a table or mantel. The Taper Vase’s tall silhouette is an ideal vessel for holding long-stemmed flowers or grasses, and it makes a welcome addition to a dining room, living room, or bedroom interior.
