Founded in 2011 by Robert True Ogden, Philadelphia-based company Lostine bases its products on the principle that utilitarian objects can be both functional and attractive. Lostine’s products span small accessories and statement furniture pieces, all founded in their simplicity and elevated by unexpected design details.

Industrial table comprised of oak and steel

The Brandywine furniture series marries simple, functional silhouettes with a thoughtful play of materials. This coffee table features a solid oak top that is available with a light or dark finish. A simple rectangle, the tabletop rests on a steel frame, adding stability to the table along with a distinctive look. The steel frame captures an industrial feel, which is apparent in the trestle-like flared legs. The steel legs are finished with oak feet, giving the table an unexpected, sophisticated detail.

Also available in the series: a desk and bench.

Industrial decorative ladders with oxidized finish

The Bloak Decorative Ladders marry the classic silhouette of a ladder with distinctive details. Available in three sizes, each ladder is made of strong oak wood that is ideal for hanging bath towels, linens, or scarves. The bottom of each ladder features a black oxidized finish, giving the ladders additional visual appeal.

Retro storage basket originally designed for farming

The Wire Potato Baskets are inspired by old potato farming baskets, matching the silhouette, sturdiness, and functional handles. The baskets are available in several colors, adding personality to the container. Although originally intended for transporting potatoes, these storage baskets can be used for holding throw blankets in a living room, magazines in an entryway or office, toys in a playroom, or even laundry.

Distinctive salt and pepper mills with oxidized finish

The Salt and Pepper Mills can be used with rock salt and peppercorns, and feature a non-corrosive grinding mechanism, which can be adjusted to create fine or coarse salt and pepper. Available in small and large sizes, one can be used for pepper, and the other for salt. Each cylindrical mill is crafted from oak and features a dip dyed finish for an unexpected, distinctive look.

Minimalist pendant comprised of hand-turned wood, glass, and brass fixings

The Edmund Light presents an elegant play of materials with industrial details. Although the light appears simple at first glance, the Edmund is comprised of several distinct components including a hand-turned maple shade, glass globe, brass fixings, and wrapped cloth cord. At once simple and artful, the pendant can be used in a variety of interiors, including kitchens, dining rooms, and dens.

Rustic shelving system with detachable bookends

The Market Shelves blend rustic charm, thoughtful features, and modern details. Designed to rest flat against the wall, the shelves graduate forward, creating a balanced structure. Available in tall and wide sizes, each bookshelf includes bookend paddles that can be arranged where they’re needed, or removed completely to create uninterrupted shelves. The Market Shelves include leather details that not only keep the shelves in place, but also add visual texture to the piece.

Leather-framed mirror in oval and circular shapes

The Fairmont Mirrors represent the perfect blend of rusticity and elegance. Each mirror in the series—round, long oval, and wide oval—features a hand-stitched leather frame that is fixed with brass rivets. The leather frame functions like a pocket for the mirror glass, and the natural material will darken over time, giving each mirror a distinct patina. Each mirror includes an iron hand-hammered screw for mounting the mirror on a wall, adding an additional rustic detail to the piece.

Rustic stool with finished oak feet

The Gordon Stools marry a simple, functional silhouette with a thoughtful play of materials. The stool features a solid oak seat that is available in a natural or whitewash finish. A simple circle, the seat rests on a coated metal frame, adding stability along with a distinctive look. The metal frame gives the simple stool an industrial feel, which is apparent in the multiple cross bars. The metal legs are finished with oak feet giving the stool an unexpected, sophisticated detail.

The Gordon is available in bar and counter heights.
