From a remote prefab located in Bend, Oregon to an apartment building in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, there is no denying that these eight residences get a healthy dose vitamin D. Here are a few of our favorite light-filled rooms around the world.

An easy-to-build modular system is the perfect solution for a family in Bend, Oregon. The architects wrapped the glazing around the corner of the living room to bring the landscape inside. The open-web trusses run continuously from indoors to out. A fleet of Modernica furnishings complement a Prototype Boomerang chair by Richard Neutra, a custom Moufelt industrial felt rug, and Circa50 butterfly chairs.

Once ashamed of his lackluster Chicago abode, architect Brad Lynch tore it down and started over with a family home that’s part retreat and part public stage. In the living room, a pair of Frog chairs by Piero Lissoni for Living Divani join custom leather furnishings. At the base of Echo Mountain in Phoenix, a geometric home by Wendell Burnette opens up to the surrounding desert landscape.
