Modern Swedish family dream getaway with Ilva table and Carl Hansen & Søn chairs in dining area

An adventurous family envisioned this 2,500 square-foot dream getaway on Sweden’s southwestern shore. Oskar and Karl, 12 and 9, share breakfast at their family’s summer getaway in Sweden. The table is from ILVA, and the CH36 chairs by Hans Wegner are from Carl Hansen & Søn.

Inspired by their clients’ bold art collection, a pair of architects designed this Hamptons vacation house that subverts tradition. Interior designer Danielle Roberts sought practical materials for the living room, such as custom wide-wale upholstery for a CB2 sofa. The fallen-wood coffee table is by St. Louis–based designer David Stine; the chair is by Hans Wegner for Carl Hansen & Søn.

Polish Farmhouse Dining Room with Danish Modern Loungers

Jacek Kolasiński took on this massive 1,500 square-foot renovation project in his dream neighborhood. The dwelling showcases the designer’s collection of Danish chairs and loungers from the 1940s, 50s, and 60s — including pieces designed by Kofod Larsen, J.L Moller, Harry Ostergaard, Bruno Mathsson, and Hans J. Wegner.

Restrained by local building code, architect Michael O’Sullivan forwent a flashy facade on this new Auckland, New Zealand, home, saving the fireworks for the interior. Adjacent to the main living area sits a snug lounge that looks out through mullioned windows onto a swimming pool. The room features a CH25 easy chair and a CH008 coffee table, both by Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hansen & Son, and a Mags modular sofa by Hay Studios, all of which are from Auckland’s Corporate Culture and were chosen by Jay and resident Jes Wood. The vase is by New Zealand potters Bruce and Estelle Martin, and the carpet (in Citrine) is from the Lees’ Truth in Color range.

Modern eclectic living room with yellow sofa and red ball lights

In this Brussels mansion, nothing has a price tag, but almost everything is for sale. Here, two design experts curate their fantasy house. Located just off the entry hall, this room opens onto a lush garden. The residents commissioned the overhead light from designers Sylvain Willenz and Hubert Verstraeten. “The use of red billiard ball references Charles and Ray Eames’s Hang-It-All coat rack,” says resident Kathryn Smith. The wall-hung light is by the contemporary São Paulo–based designers Luciana Martins and Gerson de Oliveira. The rug is a Moroccan patchwork from the 1960s; the teak-and-leather Kilin chair is by Sergio Rodrigues; and the cane-backed sofa is a student daybed designed by Hans Wegner for Getama in the 1950s.
